Le Musee D'Orsay is a hit!

Today we went to the City of Children, and to the park de la Vilette. It's basically like the Science Centre. It was fun. We then went on a cruise through the canals of Paris. It was very cool, especially the very long Tunnel that lets out at Place de la Bastille and is eerily lit by vents of sunlight from above. The Cruise dropped us of at the foot of the Musee D'Orsay around 4:45 and it was time to head home, pick up pizza and watch a movie, since we have a very very early pick up time for our Loire Valley tour in the morning. But on a whim, I asked Gwen if she wanted to go into the museum, and she said yes. She loved it!

She went crazy for all the sculptures, and for the building itself (it's a lovely building) and spent quite a bit of time checking out the paintings to chose her favorite. This is what she chose:

The visit also happened to be free! We were in a very long line when someone from the Museum yelled everyone in. We only had an hour and a half left, so I guess it was perfect timing.

After the visit, we sat outside in the square listening to an amazing duo performing on electric guitar and violin, and watched a very cool rollerskater do tricks. Gwen was enchanted!

She also got to speak to Daddy today, which was a thrill! She would also like me to mention two funny things that happened.

#1 When we were sitting outside the Louvre with our feet in the fountain, Gwen stood up and promptly fell on her butt in the water. she is giggling as i type this and read it out load to her.

#2 Today we were going through the metro station, and Gwen didn't look where she was going, so she got her foot stuck in the little canal on the side of the walkway used to drain water. And stuck good, it was hard for me to pull it out!

She wasn't hurt in either case, so don't worry, she is laughing!

Off to bed, 6:30 pick up! and Gwen will be able to tell me that, because I bought her a very cute real grown up watch from Swatch and she is determined to tell the time, so we have been practicing. She is getting pretty good. In French we use military time, so adding Twelve is the hiccup right this minute, but it's coming along!
